Transforming School Culture, Community and Outcomes.

Our Approach

Blending Ancient Practices and Modern Educational Practice

A Rite of Passage is a structured, supported and intentional process that helps people move through significant life transitions – such as adolescence, parenthood, career shifts and elderhood.

For thousands of years, cultures around the world have used Rites of Passage to nurture emotional growth, belonging and leadership. In modern life, we;ve lost many of these practices and frameworks – leaving people to navigate change alone and without the tools and support they need. We believe schools are and ideal environment in which to bring back these important experiences.

How Schools Transform

Educate

The Whole School Community

Parental involvement is an important element of this model. We help schools engage families through events and workshops that foster a deeper understanding of the developmental changes young people experience, while also strengthening relationships at home.

We also equip educators and school leaders with the tools and frameworks to confidently deliver Rites of Passage programs themselves, with the goal of building long-term capacity and reducing reliance on external facilitators.

Design

Experiential Wellbeing, Camps, and Rites of Passage

All of the Rites of Passage training is dedicated to upskilling staff to co-design programs with ROPI to meet each school’s unique culture and community. As such, no two school programs look the same, and have different focuses and year level applications.

Common elements involve the design of Rite of passage Camps and Retreats, integrating this work into wellbeing curriculum, and key stages of change through the student journey.

Deliver

Transformational Programs to Students

The school is empowered to take the knowledge and skills and designs to powerfully deliver Rites of Passage through a range of capacities including Camps, Wellbeing Lessons, key Ceremonies in student transitions, discussion circles on important topics and more.

Our trained facilitators work alongside your school to deliver engaging workshops, camps, and resources. We also offer leadership training for staff who want to embed the framework into their ongoing practice.
Simply get in touch with us, and we’ll work with you to design a program that fits your school’s unique needs.
Absolutely. The Rite of Passage Program is designed to be customised by each school, rather than an off-the-shelf program, and is here to enhance what is already being done, not replace it.
They can be run both in-person and online and cover topics such as adolescent development, mental health, technology, and healthy rites of passage.
No. We encourage schools to explore any design that fits their unique community.
