Father + Daughter have camped

A 2-night camp for you to spend quality time with your daughter in nature.

When was the last time you put aside some time for just you and your daughter? The Father and Daughter camp offers a safe, distraction-free environment to spend 1 on 1 time together, which is so important yet often so rare in today’s busy world.
Our purpose-built facility in the Byron Bay hinterland is a beautiful, natural and safe place for you to slow down, connect and gain a better understanding of her needs as she grows into a young woman.

Meet The
Head of Camps

Luke has spent over two decades working at the intersection of men’s psychology, wilderness therapy, and rites of passage. He trained under some of the world’s leading figures in initiation and men’s work, and has personally guided thousands of fathers and sons through the Making of Men program.
He has a deep passion for this work and for seeing genuine connection build. Now as a father of 2, the connections he sees form on these camps hit differently.

Location

Our property is located in the Byron Bay hinterland — a stunning forest property with a large covered area for meals and gatherings, as well as two giant teepees. In the event of wet weather, we have you covered.

The site is located at 1 Coopers Lane South, Main Arm.

To get there from Mullumbimby:
— travel along Main Arm Road for 5km
— turn left into Coopers Lane and drive for 1km
— turn left into Coopers Lane South
— follow the signs and take the first driveway on your right
— keep driving up until you reach a white building — car park to the right

It is a steep driveway but you will be fine in any car!

Both the Gold Coast and Ballina airports are around one hour’s drive from the campsite. We usually find the Gold Coast airport offers cheaper fares as it is larger and has more flights.
As we are in a regional town, public transport is not an option. If you are interested in carpooling from the airport, please let us know and we will put you in touch with other people who are also keen. Alternatively you can get an Uber from the airport — the cost is around $150 each way.
We start at 3pm NSW time on Friday, and finish at 2pm on Sunday. It is essential that you arrive on time so please keep us posted if you are delayed on 0402 610 597.

As there is limited phone reception on site, you can give your emergency contacts the number for Joel Leske, Head of Operations, who will be available throughout the camp and can get messages to you in an emergency.

This is a weekend of camping — either in your own tent or one you have hired from us. All people coming to the camp will be sleeping in tents rather than vehicles or caravans.
As we are off grid, we have composting toilets, solar power and limited showering facilities. We recommend you bring a pack of biodegradable moist towelettes for ease of freshening up.
We expect pleasant days, blue skies and cool nights around a fire. However this time of year is unpredictable with showers or rain. Please check the forecast and come prepared — expect days up to 25°C with evenings around 15°C. Bring warm clothes for the evenings.
This is a weekend of camping in tents — note you cannot sleep or access your vehicle during the camp. If you have not booked camping equipment and need it, you can hire it from us — please email us if you need to book it.

Please bring:

  • Torch
  • Water bottle
  • Sun protection (hat, sunscreen)
  • Insect repellent (mozzies and midges)
  • Sturdy walking shoes
  • Clothing for the outdoors
  • Warm clothes including a raincoat — for cool nights bring a warm coat and beanie
  • Toiletries and a towel

Please do not bring sporting equipment or games. Electronic devices should be left at home or in your car.

On Saturday night, there might be a chance to share music, a story, a poem or performance around a fire. If you or your child have an instrument you enjoy playing, please feel free to bring it along.

A big part of this camp is being able to switch off and enjoy time with your child. We will have staff on site to take photographs which we will share after the event. We ask you to leave phones, watches and other technology at home or in your car for the duration of the camp.
If you need to make changes more than 12 weeks before the program, we will charge a $50 administration fee. Between 6–12 weeks before the program, changes are subject to a cancellation fee of 10% of the total program cost. We are unable to offer refunds within six weeks of commencement unless we can rebook the space.

We strongly encourage domestic travel insurance — policies from as little as $35–70 cover airfares, accommodation and program costs. One we recommend is Insure and Go (Silver Level — up to $10,000 coverage, $100 excess).
